About me

@me

Oye!

Chances are that if you ended up here you were wondering for some reasons “who the hell is this guy?”, or maybe, more likely, the internet rabbit hole simply led you to read the “About me” page of a random person (and maybe it’s also 2 am?). No worries, I know where you are coming from.

I am a security researcher at UCSB Seclab, resident hacker@Shellphish, and developer/enthusiast of angr.

I’m very passionate and curious about the future of computing and its current/future deep impact on our civilization. In particular, my mission is to make technology empowering human beings to its best, and I believe security is a fundamental piece of the puzzle to make this happen since there is no progress where chaos reigns.

My research is particularly focused on system security, in a more l33t way defined also as the “science of hacking”. I’ve been involved in different projects regarding malware analysis and program analysis applied to binaries for vulnerability discovery. This led me to explore all the many ways we can apply symbolic execution techniques to reason about real and practical problems of complex programs and software.

I’m a big fan of CTFs and I occasionally engage with Shellphish. I’m also to blame (but don’t, please) for iCTF organization since 2019.

As an 🇮🇹 soul currently living in the US I’m also on a crusade against pineapple pizza and BBQ chicken pizza, but, I’m not delusional, and I know there are some battles I can’t win in this world. Therefore, I usually just sit aside, disappointed, and complaining as much as I can.
